American Airlines to let customers use internet in-flight
Starting Wednesday, Fort Worth-based American Airlines will unveil Aircell's "Gogo" internet service on select flights. Wednesday will be a test flight from New York to L.A. and will be free for customers with laptops or Blackberrys, but expansion of the service onto other flights will cost passengers $12.95 for flights of three hours or more or $9.95 for shorter trips.
While it'd be nice if it were cheaper (or -- gasp -- free), at least this is a service that's giving customers something useful that wasn't already free and that they didn't have before.

$12.95 - yikes! You would think they would have learned from the airphone that obscene prices turn people off.
It may be different this time and I would likely pay it. When you're in a locked metal tube for 3 hours, the internet makes the time go by faster.

Brett, in response to your question: Yes, definitely NSFW. R-E-A-D A B-O...O-K!
What I find interesting is that one of the "related" videos is a man with a tail (probably also NSFW). Um...wha?!

Uhh, methinks YouTube as a whole is restricted at your workplace.
Either way, vid is relatively controversial. I'd also like to point out the irony in linking to a site called Blackademics.org on the topic. =p

Alex – Aren’t you the guy with the thing for bugs? Fascinating what fascinates you.
So, a rap song called Read A Book is controversial but oh, let's see...Cop Killa is all good?

Hey, what can I say, jtmbls -- I'm just constantly amazed at the weird stuff you can find on the internet. What an age we live in where, with one click, you can go from watching Isabella Rossellini performing insect sex to seeing a guy with a tail. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Glad I could completely derail this.
I can't wait for the airline uh, what are supposed to call them these days, whatever - the airline people, I can't wait for them to have to do tech support for a bunch of confused people with laptops.
