East Dallas Buckner and Casa Linda area is speedtrap central this week
DALLAS Last few days driving to work, I've seen increasingly sophisticated speedtraps along Buckner and Ferguson. It started with a two-man speed gun and car arrangement. Today there were three cars involved, plus a cop to direct traffic around the wnton evildoers.
Now I know you are always super-cautious, but you might tell your leadfoot friends to lay off in East Dallas for a few days.
I wonder if there are any add-on infractions.

A text message from my husband confirms it. While at dinner with my parents, I got a text from him saying " Thank you Mike Orren". Apparently the cops were everywhere on his drive in that area this evening...

Oh and if your cruising down Montfort in N.Dallas late for work around 7:30 a.m., watch out for the Constables who abandon their vehicles and hide in the bushes with the radar gun. Yes, they were literally hiding in the bushes. 47 in a 30 = $250.00. Not a good way to start the day.

47 in a 30 sounds like a good way to run someone over or cause an accident.
Maybe they should hide in the bushes more often.

I bet she was in a school zone, too. Probably talking on the cellphone about how much she hates those screaming speed-bumps.

I was keeping up with the traffic, thank you very much. I believe I was singled out because...because...I got nothin'.
Exactly Pavel! They are so annoying! Plus I think one is still stuck to my car.

jtmbls, they even warn you via road-sign that it's a high enforcement area! But, the only sign I actually know of is while heading south on Montfort just after Belt Line.
Thought it was a no-no from a procedural standpoint to have one officer clock you and another actually pull you over?

Really? A sign? I must have been putting on my mascara…
Oh no, it was much more surreal than that. I was just trucking along in the far right lane and maybe a block ahead of me I see a man step out of nowhere into the middle of my lane and put his hand up like a traffic cop. It took me a good several seconds to register what was even happening. I’ve never seen cops actually hide in bushes before. Then he just waved me into a parking lot and gave me a fancy printed ticket.

I have seen cops do that here in Ft. Worthless. They just jump out on the street and start waving. Not very smart to jump in front of a speeding car if you ask me!!!

Ft. Worthless - Pretty funny.
I know that's kind of what I was thinking. I wonder what would have happened if I had just changed lanes and went around him...Their cars were a good way off and well, let’s just say running might have been something of an issue for them. Maybe I will try that next time as a sort of social experiment.
