Cue the blue jeans and button down shirt tied at the waist. There we go. That's country, right there.

Jessica Simpson, born and raised in Dallas for those who appreciate such connections, has completed yet another crossover. Originally a contemporary Christian music singer (moving on because of breast size?), she found fame in poppy, teen music and "reality" television.

Simpson has now moved on to country (sorry, sorry, new country), with what would appear to be some level of success. A recent billboard review notes that her most recently released single, "Come on Over," is "undeniably country and not forced." Billboard's Ken Tucker continues by noting that Simpson is "convincingly ready to play in the country arena." He then ends the review with a "come on over, indeed," which pains one's soul to read.

Haven't bothered listening to her music - I didn't even know she was a musician 'til now - but according to this headline, people seem to hate this sort of stuff.

The story doesn't actually bother doing anything other than whining about how the author likes country while nobody else does.

Pavel, a New Yorker wrote that piece. [insert typical "how the hell would they know anything about country" jab]

Haven't heard the song, not that worried about it. If she performs it live, I'll definitely take a gander.
