Jetscreamer comes to less-than-screaching halt
Jetscreamer, like most bands, have a history plagued by quitting band members (drummers, in particular). Unlike most bands in this area, however, they've stuck it out for more than a decade.
But the hammer is dropping on this experimental rock outfit, just as they finish up their latest album, Hinterland. A rather morose and questioning blog post marks the band's imminent demise:
Hey folks.
We're not booking any shows.
To be honest, the future of our band looks pretty grim.
I don't know what we're gonna do with our new album, besides figure out how to pay the studio bill. Some of it's posted here on the myspace.
I'm hesitant to stick a fork in it officially, but it's looking that way to me. Sorry, I don't know what else to say. It's been a hell of a decade? Thanks? It's been a real treat to be a part of your lives and you ours?
If we're done for good, there's not gonna be any big bang blowout, no last show or anything, so don't even bother asking. That's how these things usually end: in ordinary ways, rather than extraordinary.
