DALLAS Alberto Lombardi is set to unveil his first West Village eatery, Pescabar, on July 2nd. His new Italian seafood restaurant will feature a menu focusing on fresh fish and seafood flown in daily from Hawaii, San Francisco, New York and Washington State.
The interior design is a subtle take on the carnival colors of Venice like chartreuse, melon and a watery, sea blue. Furnishings include Venetian glass mirrors, modern interpretations of baroque chandeliers, custom-made Italian furniture and an etched glass wall separating the open kitchen from the dining room that doubles as a projection screen featuring iconic views of the Northern Italian coastline, fishing boats, Venice and all types of seafood.
Pescabar will feature a large, comfortable lounge perfect for meeting friends and having a drink, an appetizer or a light snack. Sailcloth banners will soar above the new lounge and will change colors via projection with the colors of sea and sky. The newly enlarged lounge opens onto a new, larger patio with new awnings, large custom sofas and an octopus-covered ottoman.
The highlight of the menu at Pescabar will be a "Crudo sense Frontiere" (Italian for 'raw bar without borders') featuring several types of oysters, scallops, arctic char, Dungeness crab, salmon, tuna and snapper plus incredible seafood Carpaccio and Pescabar’s unique version of Italian sashimi. "Pescabar will feature a light, fresh palette and the finest, freshest seafood and fish available," said Lombardi. "The specialty of the house will be a Piatto al Frutti Di Mare containing crab, oysters, shrimp, ceviche and lobster."
The full menu will offer pastas with seafood, baked oysters, clams, mussels, two or three choices of ceviche, risotto, chicken and steak. The pastry chef is also planning an exquisite dessert menu offering numerous Italian specialties.
Pescabar will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, with a special seafood brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Pescabar is located in The West Village.

Sad to see Ferre go. Luckily, their FW location is still around.
Incidentally, the link to Pescabar in this story goes to 'Stadium Club' - assuming this is not correct.
