The Rangers fell behind early by allowing two towering, 400+ foot home runs in the top of the third inning. First Chase Utley slammed one off Rangers starte Vicente Padilla, then two batters later Ryan Howard knocked one into the second level seats to make it 6-2 Philladelphia.

Padilla did not have a good day, giving up seven runs off seven hits over six innings. Padilla, who walked three and struck out three, fell to 10-4 and was denied a chance to tie for the American League lead in wins.

Several Rangers had good offensive days: Ian Kinsler had his second straight three-hit night, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Michael Young collected three hits, including a two-run shot in the bottom of the first.
