Sachse City Council to hold special meeting on Monday June 30 at 7 p.m.

4

— The Sachse City Council is holding a Special Meeting on Monday, June 30 at 7:00 p.m.

An initial action involves the extension of the Agreement of Cooperation with Dallas County for the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Program for three more years.

But they're also going to see a presentation and receive input on the Lee Engineering Traffic Study. This study examined Woodbridge Parkway and Miles Road, and was initially presented at the City Council meeting on June 16. They found that the roadways are operating successfully, but they're going to have to add traffic signals in the near future, and plan for the need for more "north/south mobility" through Sachse. As the report puts it, "Current projections show a very strong north/south movement in 2030 between FM 544 and the George Bush Turnpike. This movement cannot currently be absorbed by the existing Sachse roadway network in an efficient manner."

The meeting's being held at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth Street, Sachse.

Talk about dead ends? Bring a sense of finality to the issue? To kill conversation? Bury the opposition? <g></g>

because Charles and Sons Funeral Home is owned by Charles Smith who is also on the City Council right across from the railroad which has caused Sachse ALL kinds of trouble for Sachse to move forward on their various road construction issues.....
