Miss Texas Pageant relegated again to online broadcast
The Miss Texas Pageant will, for the second year in a row, be broadcast solely online due to declining TV viewership. 40 competitors from around the state will vie for the Miss Texas title starting Tuesday night at Will Rogers Coliseum. Winners of the Miss Texas Pageant and the Miss Teen Texas Pageant will be announced on Saturday.
In what seems an interesting change of pace, considering our fair, bleached state, only 14 of the 40 competitors are undeniably (visibly) blond. 40 of 40 contestants, however, will be judged to win a $10,000 scholarship based, partly, on how they look in a bathing suit.

Pavel Lishin, says:
Collin: Just because you hate to see women going to college and getting a $10k scholarship to do so doesn't mean the rest of us are misogynists who hate ogling women with bodies of uncertain manufacture.

Jason Rice, says:
Triple word score goes to the use of "misogynist" and "ogling" in one sentence.

Kevin Gilhooly, says:
The entire State doesn't seem represented. In fact, the bulk of the contestants seem to be from around here, which makes it easy for us to cheer, but the rest of the State, notsomuch. Is it any wonder nobody is watching?

OMG! What ever is going to become of all the pushy, self-serving pageant moms in Texas???
Jason - He should get extra points for style also as i think "women with bodies of uncertain manufacture." is a very nice turn of phrase.

Jason Rice, says:
Yes jtmbls, he always shines in the Essay and Interview events and consistently stands out in the Evening Gown Competition. Maybe this is the year he'll finally break through in Talent and the Swimsuit Division.

Interesting.
Jason, clearly you've ever seen a picture of Pavel. Please, I beg of you...never give me that mental image again.
