Rangers rookie starter Eric Hurley finally got his much-deserved first career win, lasting almost six innings and giving up just a single run off five hits. Hurley walked two and struck out three, and is now 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA, and has not had a subpar outing in any of his four career starts.

Fellow rookie Chris Davis hit what turned out to be the game-deciding home run in the bottom of the second, and became the first Ranger to homer in both of his first games. Rookie catcher Max Ramirez also performed well, scoring once and throwing out speedy center fielder Shane Victorino.

Ian Kinsler continued his tear across both leagues, going 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, and finished the three-game series with an impressive 9-for-13 performance. Kinsler is hitting .429 over the past 12 games.
