DALLAS Through a partnership with Earning by Learning, students in more than 60 Dallas Independent School District schools can earn rewards for reading.
Participants are paid for each book they complete and report on while enrolled in the program.
Founded in 1996, Earning by Learning pairs private and corporate entities to encourage Dallas ISD students to read. EBL is sponsored by the Richard A. ("Ricky") Rudine Memorial Fund of the Communities Foundation of Texas, the New Car Dealers Association of Metropolitan Dallas and Washington Mutual.
Celebrations of reading, including presentations to students, are underway at each of the participating schools.
Here are just a few of the special events scheduled in the week ahead:
- Gilbert Cuellar Sr. Elementary School, March 4, at 8:30 a.m.
- Pleasant Grove Elementary School, March 4, at 10 a.m.
- S.S. Conner Elementary School, March 6, at 8:30 a.m.
- B.H. Macon Elementary School, March 6, at 10 a.m.
- Edwin J. Kiest Elementary School, March 6, at 10 a.m.
