Marty was the key cog in the Stars' NHL-record 12-2 February

— Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin, Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco and Buffalo Sabres left wing Thomas Vanek have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the month of February.

Turco posted a 9-2-0 record, 1.90 goals-against average, .926 save percentage and one shutout in 11 games. He allowed two goals or fewer in eight contests, including a 28-save performance in a 1-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Feb. 17, his second shutout of the season. Turco is tied for fourth among NHL goaltenders in victories (29-14-4), one shy of reaching the 30-win mark for the fifth consecutive season.

Kirk, I know the rules. I'm a hockey fan. :p Just that I finally manage to go after all these years of wanting to go.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info
