Denton plans to trap and neuter feral cats

Email Print Tell us your story Comments (2)

This article on WFAA.com about Denton's plan to pass an ordinance allowing the city to trap and neuter feral cats is best read in Elmer Fudd's voice. The city plans to capture cats and once neutered, introduce them back into the wild... streets of Denton.

According to the article, "one or two cats in a two year period can produce up to 80 kittens." Going off this information, Denton should be less worried about neutering cats than finding the ones that can reproduce asexually. They are the real threat.

The Denton feral cat problem is all underground and ALL over town: in the sewers. Unless the traps are put in the proper location, and there will need to be a ton of them, then I doubt this plan will work.

The one thing I can assure you of is that the City of Denton is basically vermin free.
