Wilma Ayers, 70, was trying to save her dogs from her burning home when she was rescued by neighbors. Thankful to her neighbors, she still regretted not being able to help her animals. But, the dogs managed to escape from the blaze on their own and firefighters returned them to Ayers who was staying with her daughter.
Ayers' house "near Azle," which was not insured, was destroyed by the fire.
