City of Southlake votes for teen curfew

Parents of Southlake teens proclaim it "a good excuse for a party." (Or at least I would, if I were a parent of a Southlake teen.)

The Southlake City Council voted 6-0 on Tuesday (March 4) for a proposal that will install a curfew on teens hanging out around town after the hour of 11 p.m. on nights before school days and after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The measure was put in place in part to control crowds of young revelers hanging out at Southlake Town Square, which local youths describe as "the bee's knees," or whatever colorful hip expression is currently employed by young people to mean "neat."

In related news, excited Southlake parents are planning a big after-hours whing ding (no kids allowed) for the night after the ordinance goes into effect. We're talkin' swimsuits optional, folks...

Pavel Lishin, says:

That's a pretty good idea. Instead of hanging out in public and scaring the elderly, they can just stay at each other's houses and drink, or whatever kids do for fun nowadays.
