Long-time former Dallas County Sheriff Bowles wants the job again
Former long-time Dallas County Sheriff Jim Bowles entered the race for the sheriff's seat late in the process this time around, competing against Lowell Cannaday and two other candidates in the Republican primary. He did well enough - despite an almost total lack of campaigning - to force a runoff with candidate Cannaday to determine who will face the clear Democratic primary winner - incumbent Lupe Valdez - in the general election.
