Fort Worth’s 20th annual Imagination Celebration Saturday event moved indoors due to God’s frozen tears

What makes God cry? Lost puppies. Fallen ice-cream. Sodomy.

Event Details: March 8, 2008 Saturday from 10a to 12p is the Imagination Celebration 20th Anniversary Parade & Celebration. This event is free and open to the public.

Due to recent snowy slushiness, the Imagination Celebration 20th Anniversary Parade & Celebration—scheduled at Farrington Field on Saturday morning—will be moved indoors to the Will Rogers Auditorium.

The event, a "festive community ceremony that is free for the whole family," will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a stadium parade at Will Rogers Auditorium, followed by a show featuring 1,000 Fort Worth ISD students who have created giant puppets, banners, and costumes.

Local Fort Worth artists, musicians, and performers will join marching bands and stilt walkers in the grand procession into the auditorium.

A musical centerpiece for the performance will be the debut of a symphony by former TCU student and renowned composer Arturo Rodriguez of Monterrey, Mexico. Terry Beeman, of Los Angeles and New York, has choreographed a work to be performed by ICFW's Debbie Allen Dance Institute.

Following the performance, patrons are invited to gather for hands-on arts experiences, including the creation of a graffiti Wall of Memories about Imagination Celebration's 20 years in Fort Worth.

Nearby at the Community Arts Center (1300 Gendy), an exhibit will open with paintings and works by 30+ teachers and participants, as well as many artists associated with ICFW for the past twenty years.

The parade and celebration will take place Saturday, March 8, 2008, from 10a-12p at Will Rogers Auditorium 3401 W. Lancaster in Fort Worth.
