Under this contract, ACS will provide the state with several components of ACS' electronic health records (EHR) solution, including SmartPA for conducting automated prior authorizations and Prospective Drug Utilization Review. Since 2002, SmartPA has helped contribute more than $85 million in program savings annually in Missouri.

ACS has also provided MO HealthNet with Retrospective Drug Utilization review and academic detailing programs that have enabled the state to save more than $10 million. In 2002, ACS introduced the Get Well program, a disease management program, which helped the state save more than $7 million.

"We have worked closely with the State of Missouri to help them achieve their vision of providing MO HealthNet participants with the best care possible through innovative clinical and technology solutions," said Christopher T. Deelsnyder, ACS senior vice president and managing director, Government Healthcare Solutions. "ACS is noted for listening to our customers, learning about their business requirements, and implementing solutions for participants, providers, and taxpayers in each of the states we serve."
