Fort Worth-- One after another, relatives of Christopher Chubasco Wilkins testified before court this week, pleading with the jury not to sentence their family member to death.
Wilkins was convicted on Tuesday of capital murder for shooting and killing 33-year-old Mike Silva and 40-year-old Willie Freeman in October 2005 over a payphone dispute.
He is now at the ends of the jurors, who also have the option of sending him to life behind bars. The trial is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. Monday in state District Judge Everett Young's court.
Also on Tuesday, 40-year-old Theodis Dodson from Hurst was sentenced to life in prison for his armed robbery and slaying of a convenience store clerk.
