With me hanging around down here in Austin at SXSW, I didn't want anyone to forget about North Texas' own super-duper film festival, the AFI Dallas International. It's coming up (*GASP*!) in just over a couple of weeks, starting March 27.

As a subtle reminder - and thanks to the nudging of AFI media relations chief John Wildman - here are a couple of photos from the 2008 ribbon cutting at the AFI Dallas ticket office.

Also, John's accompanying note mentioned the rolling out of a viral promo video posted on the AFI website featuring Ashley Sabin and David Redmon, directors of the documentary Intimidad (part of the lineup for this year's film fest). The vid should also be making its way onto YouTube, methinks.

Ashley, it seems, is notorious around the AFI offices for her faux pas during last year's presentation of a Star Award to filmmaker David Lynch, when she - um - dropped the award. (Hey, these things happen.)

Says here a different promo vid will be rolled out each week prior to the fest's opening gala.
