The thought of playing the Knicks sends shockwaves of fear throughout the NBA
DALLAS The Dallas Mavericks won handily Monday night, cruising to an easy victory over one of the most disastrous franchises in professional sports, 108-79 at the AAC. The Mavericks were so far ahead of the sputtering Knicks that four of the five starters did not step onto the floor in the fourth quarter. The win improved the Mavericks to 41-23, still in fourth place in the Southwest Division after the Houston Rockets won their 19th consecutive game earlier in the evening.
Dirk Nowitzki led the charge for the Mavs, scoring 18 points in 22 minutes before bowing out to the bench after the third period. Dirk show 6-of-9 from the floor, added 8 rebounds, two steals and zero turnovers. Jason Kidd also had a good game, putting up 8 points, 5 boards and 9 assists in just 26 minutes.
Jason Terry added 18 points off the bench, while Brandon Bass pummeled the New York reserves with 8 points and 9 rebounds in 26 minutes.
