Texas employers given year-long unemployment tax break
The break is happening because jobless claims are currently low in Texas and because the state's unemployment compensation fund has about $700 million more than it's required to have.
Governor Rick Perry announced on Monday that employers in the state of Texas will be given a year-long break from having to pay unemployment taxes. The break is happening because jobless claims are currently low in Texas and because the state's unemployment compensation fund has about $700 million more than it's required to have.
So, I guess the good news is that if you happen to be unemployed, there's plenty of money to go around.
