UPDATED: FBI investigating McKinney bank robbery

UPDATE: See the picture of the alleged robber to the right.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the McKinney Police Department are investigating the robbery of Woodforest National Bank on Saturday evening.

A man walked into Woodforest, located inside the Wal-Mart at 5001 McKinney Ranch Parkway, at approximately 6:40 p.m. and issued a verbal demand for money. The robber left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash without altercation.

FBI Special Agent Mark White told McKinneyNews.net that the man was not captured on video and that no photos of the robbery are known to exist.

"Sometimes the video cameras are angled in such a way that these people aren't caught on camera," White said. "I don't know if that's the case here."

The man is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, approximately 23 - 24 years of age and standing 6-0 and weighing around 165 pounds with dark hair and some facial hair. He was identified as wearing shorts and glasses. There was no weapon used in commission of the crime.

The FBI and MPD welcome tips regarding the crime. Tipsters can call either the FBI at 972-559-5000 or the MPD at 972-547-2700. White stressed that this man could be dangerous and citizens are advised not to attempt to apprehend the suspect.

If photos are made available at any point, they can be viewed at bandittracker.com, a website created as a joint effort between law enforcement and the banking community.
