Dogs and cats really know how to party.

Dogs and cats really know how to party.

It's a new day in Dallas for people and their pets! To celebrate the nation's first ever animal district, the Dallas Animal District, the SPCA of Texas and Dallas Animal Services & Adoption Center are throwing a party - "An Animal Attraction."

On Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the SPCA of Texas and Dallas Animal Services & Adoption Center are celebrating the inauguration of the Dallas Animal District (similar to an Arts District, Entertainment District, or Theater District, but ours helps animals and their people) with an elegant, upscale, evening event "An Animal Attraction." The event will take place at the future home of the SPCA of Texas at 2400 Lone Star Drive just off I-30 and Hampton in Dallas.

Attendees will include: Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and Dallas City Council Members, Dallas Animal Shelter Commission members, Dallas Animal District members, SPCA of Texas staff and board members, and various civic leaders in the animal rescue community.

The Dallas Animal District (DAD) provides North Texans with a premiere destination to adopt, spay/neuter, learn about, and play with their pets. The Dallas Animal Services & Adoption Center and the SPCA of Texas are within less than a mile of each other in the District. The goal of the DAD is to help the City become a model for animal services and strengthen the City's relationship with other local animal welfare groups.
