Dallas Central library presenting eclectic Tuesday programs
Tuesdays@Central, a series of eclectic and engaging programs, will continue through March and April.
Tuesdays@Central, a series of eclectic and engaging programs, continues at the Dallas Central Library, 1515 Young St. at 7 p.m. every Tuesday on the first floor. All programs are free.
March 18 - The Scottish Impact
Is your last name Armstrong, Crockett, McKinney or Bowie? Have you ever wondered where your ancestors were from? Learn about the significant contributions made by Scots to the history of our nation and state, and tap your feet to the lively Highland dancing accompanied by a bagpiper.
March 25 - The Women’s Museum presents “Women’s History Month”
A representative from the Women’s Museum will provide an historical overview of women’s history accompanied by information about museum programs, exhibits and upcoming events.
April 1 - The Art of Feng Shui
Learn the ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui with Karen Ann, who will discuss the art of placement and arrangement of space to help achieve harmony, health, happiness and prosperity.
April 8 - Personal Safety & Awareness
Do you always seem to be rushing here, there and everywhere? Have you ever forgotten where you parked or left your keys in your car? A Dallas Police Department community education officer will show you how to incorporate personal safety and awareness in your everyday life.
April 15 - Custer and the Little Bighorn – the Last Great Battle of the American West
Author James Donovan will discuss his landmark book, A Terrible Glory, which tells the entire story of this fascinating battle including details of the cover-up, and unravels one of the great mysteries in military history. Refreshments and a book signing follow the program.
April 22 - Texas Discovery Gardens
Sarah Gardner with Texas Discovery Gardens will teach how to cultivate a container garden for your apartment or loft, including tips and tricks for an easy-and-organic garden that doesn’t require a green thumb. The class will also cover beneficial houseplants to clean your indoor air.
April 29 - Poetry Zone
Ready to chill out after a busy day? Step into the Poetry Zone. Listen to featured poetry readings by local poets and share your poems and poetry appreciation during open mike. Presented in partnership with Dallas-based Regent Publishing.
