— The Dallas Cowboys lost two backup cornerbacks to free agency in the last two weeks but retained another Monday, re-signing exclusive rights free agent Evan Oglesby to a one-year, $520,000 contract.

The Cowboys originally claimed Oglesby off waivers from Baltimore after last September's final cuts. The second-year veteran appeared in eight games, primarily on special teams, recording three tackles on coverage units and three stops on defense.

Oglesby is recovering from off-season shoulder surgery but said recently he expects to be ready for off-season workouts. He should get a chance to compete for more playing time at corner given the recent free-agent departures of Jacques Reeves (Houston) and Nate Jones (Miami).

Oglesby and last year's seventh-round pick Alan Ball are the only corners currently under contract behind starters Terence Newman and Anthony Henry, but the Cowboys likely will address the position in April's NFL Draft or the remaining weeks of free agency.
