Services for Jack Ekhtiar, owner of Avanti restaurants, on Saturday March 22
A private memorial service for restaurateur Jack Ekhtiar, who founded the three Avanti restaurants, will be held on Saturday at the Avanti Euro Bistro in Addison. Ekhtiar, 62, a native of Iran, died Saturday March 15 in The Colony, apparently of a suicide. His wife Nahid will continue running the restaurants, which also include the original in Uptown and another in Fountain Place downtown.
