Starbucks introducing reward card for regulars plus social networking site

Email Print Tell us your story Comments (3)

At its annual meeting, Starbucks announced some changes to revive business and stock price including a new rewards program for regular customers; new machines that grind the coffee beans fresh for every shot to order; no charge for add-ons such as soy milk and flavorings; and the initiation of a social networking site called MyStarbucksIdea.com where customers can make suggestions about new items they'd like. (MALT! MALT! MALT!) The reporter in this clip shows her music savvy by mentioning the fact that Starbucks' annual stockholders' meeting concludes with a "big-name music act" and that this year it was K.D. Lang.

FWIW, I went into a Starbucks today and they comped my coffee because I had to wait more than 5 minutes. I really want to hate them, but sometimes they make it difficult.

Mike, how early did you go in? Half the time I come in before 9am, mine either takes 10 minutes or magically disappears somewhere within the gearworks.

Probably 9:30. NW Hwy/75. To be clearer, the wait wasn't because there were a lot of people but because they were brewing a fresh vat.
