McKinney ISD approves Christopher Clark as principal Of Caldwell Elementary

0

The McKinney Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Christopher Clark as the new principal of Caldwell Elementary School at their regularly monthly board meeting on Monday, March 24, 2008. Mr. Clark replaces current Caldwell Elementary Principal, Kathy Foster who will be the new principal at Scott Johnson Middle School beginning with the 2008-2009 school year. Scott Johnson’s current principal, Dr. Melinda DeFelice was approved by the Board of Trustees earlier in the year to be the principal at Dr. Jack Cockrill Middle School, the district’s fifth middle school which will open in August of 2008.

Clark has more than 14 years of experience in the field of education. His career began as an elementary school teacher for five years at Lindbergh Elementary, Lindsey Elementary and Eliot Elementary Schools in the Tulsa Oklahoma Public School System. In addition, Clark served as the assistant principal at Nimitz Middle School for three years before becoming the principal at Hoover Elementary School in 2004, a position he continues to hold to date.

“I truly appreciate the hard work of the committee of teachers, parents and administrators who interviewed the seven finalists for this position. They sent us the names of three outstanding administrators for our consideration,” said Tom Crowe, McKinney ISD Superintendent of Schools. “Mr. Clark has worked in schools with diversity in the Tulsa Oklahoma Public School System and developed some innovative and exciting programs for the students there. We believe he is a very positive addition to the MISD family and that the Caldwell community will find the transition in leadership from Mrs. Foster to Mr. Clark to be very smooth.”

Clark received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1994 from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and his Masters Degree in Curriculum Supervision with an emphasis in school administration from Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
