Public Enemy just could not get enough of Dallas' woefully lackluster attendance at their Gypsy Tea Room show last year, that they are coming back for more.
Chuck D and Robert Patton-Spruill discussing Welcome to the Terrordome
This red carpet interview takes place in Los Angeles for AFI Fest 2007.
Members of Public Enemy, Chuck D, Professor Griff, and DJ Lord, will be in town for the AFI screening of their documentary, Welcome to the Terrordome. Following the screening, an official after party will take place at Victory Park's Ghostbar. Like a moth to an electric, zapping light, Ghostbar, with its overpriced, under-liquored drinks and physical stature high above sea level brings in all the celebrities looking for a semblance of L.A. in our south central burg.
Welcome to the Terrordome is a documentary that chronicles the history behind the famed rap group. Public Enemy, who is best known for their controversial music from the 80s, is still touring today, writing songs about activism and social ills. The documentary explores their impact on rap and hip-hop, featuring interviews with The Beastie Boys, Tom Morello, Henry Rollins and others, as well as live concert footage from all around the world. The documentary is named for the song of the same name featured on Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet, released in 1990, and largely considered one of the greatest, most influential rap albums of all time.
The documentary screening is at Angelika 6 at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1. Doors open for the complimentary after party at 8 p.m. Not sure if that means drinks are free, as well. Worth a shot.

Man, I'm torn. Ghostbar sucks the life out of all that is right in the world. How can I say no to PE, though? It's freaking Public Enemy!

GhostBar is truly dead now.

That is tempting. I also have jury duty in Denton on April Fool's Day, so it should be an interesting day.

PE with no Flavor Flav and Terminator X is like the Beatles with no Paul McCartney and George Martin. (Okay, bad example. The Beatles would've been better without McCartney and Martin.)

Nice catch Scott. Totally agree. Calling this "Public Enemy" is completely misleading.
