Festivities from the fishy to the flowery for Dallas this weekend

Smell that? It just reeks of equinox. And with this weekend’s outings you might just get a whiff of the unexpected, too. Delight the senses with eau de Tuna (of the Greater variety), the sparkle of Diamond (as in Neil) and a touchy tank full of stingrays (Crikey!). If that’s not enough, you can tiptoe through the tulips. Just make sure to wear your rubbers - in case of Spring Showers, of course.

Tuna Does Vegas - Bass Performance Hall

Through March 30. Tickets: $30 -$70

Jaston Williams and Joe Sears are back with their first new show in 10 years, proving two of the fundamentals of funny: One, everybody has a white trash relative they associate with a Tuna resident. Two, comedy is always funnier when men wear dresses.

Super Diamond - House of Blues, White Swan Building

Friday, March 28, 9:00 p.m. Tickets: $15 -$25

If the real Neil Diamond doesn’t bring you flowers anymore, try Surreal Neil and Super Diamond, an alternative Neil Diamond tribute. You’ll be singing along to “Song Sung Blues” in no time and may even find that your heartlight is turned on by the end of the eve.

Stingray Bay - Dallas Zoo

Through Labor Day. Tickets: $2.50 per person (zoo admission is separate).

Remember those haunted houses when you were a kid where you closed your eyes and stuck your hand in spaghetti pretending it was brains? Well this is kind of like that, except this time the “brains” are actually stingrays swimming about in a 17,000-gallon saltwater tank for you to feed and touch. P.S. – we recommend leaving your Liberace rings at home for this lil’ adventure.

Dallas Blooms - Dallas Arboretum

Through April 13. Tickets: $8 for adults (and $10 valet parking for those with nice cars).

Hey, pansy. No, we weren’t talking to you. We were just practicing flower identification for when we stroll through 400,000 spring-blooming bulbs, 3,000 azaleas and thousands of other annuals and perennials spread throughout the 66-acre property. And you’re sure to find a fairy or twelve in this not-so-secret garden, too.

Urban Icons - Dahlia Woods Gallery

Through April 5. Free Admission.

Artist Perry Nichols Brooks takes it to the street with a new batch of paintings featuring urban architecture and symbols of Dallas in soft, neo-psychedelic colors. Imagine how great that “Slippery When Wet” painting will look in the bedroom.
