Two overnight double homicides keep Dallas police busy

Email Print Tell us your story Comment

Two unconnected, double homicides took place in Dallas last night, keeping police officers and investigators on their toes.

Just before midnight on Thursday, Demetris Tillis, 24, and a 15-year-old believed to be his girlfriend were found dead in the 9600 block of Forest Lane, in Northeast Dallas. The victims were both robbed, but no motive has been pinpointed yet in the case. The story on WFAA does not say how they were killed, just that it was violent.

About an hour later south of downtown Dallas, Rodrick Green and Charles Cancel, both 24, were found shot to death at a known drug house in the 2800 block of Cleveland Street.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info
