The Rangers were able to capitalize on Oakland's mistakes to attain the rare road win. The A's defense had four errors, leading to two unearned runs.

Ranger starter Vicente Padilla got the win, pitching five and two-thirds innings and giving up just three runs --one of them earned-- on five hits. Padilla is now 4-2 with a respectable 3.50 ERA, and has given the Rangers two strong starts in a row.

The bullpen was the real hero of the game, however, as four pitchers combined to squash any hope of an Oakland comeback. Pitchers Jamey Wright, Eddie Guardado and Joaquin Benoit all got holds in the game, setting up C.J. Wilson, who pitched a perfect ninth for his seventh save of the season. The four combined to allow just two hits and one walk over three-plus innings.

The Rangers scratched and clawed for their runs in this game. The only Ranger with more than one hit was Milton Bradley, who continued to impress by going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Bradley is now hitting .333 on the season.
