The Texas Rangers once again got strong pitching, but were unable to capitalize on it in a 3-1 loss in Oakland Sunday afternoon. The loss stopped the Rangers' four-game win streak, but did mean that Texas has won three straight series.

Rangers starter Scott Feldman pitched brilliantly for six innings, giving up no runs and just three hits. Unfortunately, everything came apart in the bottom of the seventh when Feldman gave up a two-run home run to Jack Cust and an RBI single. Feldman finished with six and a third innings pitched, giving up three runs and six hits. He walked one and struck out five.

The Rangers' only run came in the top of the third, when light-hitting second baseman German Duran hit a solo home run to make it 1-0. The rest of the Texas lineup combined for just three hits and two walks, while striking out 12 times.

The middle of the Rangers lineup was especially awful Sunday, combining to go 0-for-12 with ten strikeouts. Josh Hamilton went 0-for4 with three strikeouts, Milton Bradley went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts, and David Murphy finished the trio of embarrassment by going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
