The Texas Rangers won their fourth straight Saturday night, defeating the Oakland A's 6-3 in Oakland. The Rangers have now won six of their last eight following a seven game losing streak that put them at the bottom of the major leagues.

The Rangers once again led by their starting pitching. Emergency callup A.J. Murray pitched extremely well for such short notice, going five-plus innings and giving up just three runs --two of them earned-- and six hits en route to his first win of the season. The Rangers have now given up just four earned runs in the past three games.

Three Rangers middle relievers combined to snuff out any possibility of an A's comeback. Frank Fransisco, Jamey Wright and JoaquĆn Benoit pitched three and two-thirds innings without giving up a single hit. Benoit earned his first save of the season in the process.

The Rangers were led by some clutch hitting from their young players. Outfielder David Murphy hit a three-run home run in the first inning that put the A's on their heels, while Chris Shelton added an insurance solo shot in the ninth to seal the win. Every Rangers hitter had one hit on the night.
