The Dallas Museum of Art is pleased to announce that its critically acclaimed exhibition JMW Turner will be on view for an extra week. Visitors may now see it through Sunday, May 25, during regular Museum hours.

This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition is a retrospective of one of the greatest landscape painters in the history of art. Time magazine named the exhibit to its Top 10 list of museum shows of the year, and the DMA is one of only three U.S. venues to host this exhibit and the only location outside of the Northeast. The show will open at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on July 1.

“The most important exhibition of European art occurring in North America this season is the national tour of J. M. W. Turner,” said John R. Lane, the Eugene McDermott Director of the DMA. “This exhibition is the largest and most comprehensive retrospective ever staged in the United States of the career of England’s greatest landscape painter and will present a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view this historically rich and visually powerful group of Turner’s works, including many pieces that have never before been shown in the United States.”

Glad I re-upped my DMA membership. I've seen Turner exhibit six times, it never gets boring. A spectacular exhibit. This is definitely a once in a lifetime event. You'd never forgive yourself for missing this breathtaking collection.
