Radio reporter B.J. Austin leaves Dallas news station KRLD-AM for PBS station KERA-FM

KERA announces the addition of award-winning broadcast journalist B.J. Austin to the KERA news team. Ms. Austin brings more than 20 years experience to the station. Her background includes work as a radio news reporter with stations in the Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, and New York media markets.

Ms. Austin has covered events at Dallas City Hall, many local and regional issues including the American Airlines Arena vote, the FBI's corruption investigation that lead to the arrests of public officials, the effort to save the historic Dr. Pepper building in Dallas, and numerous political races. She recently shared the Associated Press' first place award in the area of spot news for her coverage of the Arcadia Theater fire and was named KRLD Programmer of the Year in 2003 for her contributions to the news department.

i agree bjohnston (and my initials aren't even BJ) - she was really the high point of KRLD for me (it sure ain't Ernie & ... ?Jay), she's fantastic and i think it's really a coup for KERA to have gotten her

You are both correct (bjohnston and Teresa G)....BJ is among a vanishing breed of Dallas reporters for whom the term broadcast journalist is not an oxymoron.
