Rawlins Gilliland to discuss street food on KERA on Tuesday May 6 at noon

Rawlins may celebrate his birthday at Fearing's, but he's not above making a lunch out of a $2.50 taco, either.

Frequent Pegasus News contributor/commenter Rawlins Gilliland will appear on KERA on Tuesday May 6 at 12 noon to discuss his recent his article for D Magazine on street food in Dallas.

A regular contributor at KERA, Rawlins' story for D covers a wide swath of neighborhoods across Dallas, hitting everything from shaved ice in the suburbs (note to self: must try Rick’s Shaved Ice, on Arapaho Road near Hillcrest Road) to roasted corn at Dallas' downtown farmers market.

Thanks to Rawlins for giving us a shout-out on the air. For those looking for the piece he referenced, it's here:

Rawlins Gilliland rocks. I wish he had his own weekly show on KERA, or at least was on air more often.

Rawlins Gilliland, says:

FYI, KERA's 'Arts and Cluture' blog posted a link to our Pegasus piece, 'The Hidden City'. It's nice to see the repectful interplay of disparate Dallas 'media'... particularly posted on blogs... rather than the silos of separation that has generally characterized independent outlets (Newspapers, Magazines, online publications, Radio) here and elsewhere. This is how I have long approached my writing, to be all over the venue map rather than held captive within a single corral.

Meanwhile: As I said at show opening; being interviewed by Boyd is 'Like sailing down the Nile with Cleopatra'. For an entire hour, I inhaled the aromatic lotus. How lucky am I?
