Residents in North Texas will soon – if they haven’t already – notice a colorful, rolling billboard of a car dubbed the LiveGreen Machine trekking about town.
Purchased and designed by Newport Homebuilders, this traveling earth-friendly promotional vehicle was created to help showcase the company’s comprehensive green building initiative “LiveGreen, Built Green to Save Green" program.
Newport Homebuilders invested in the LiveGreen Machine to visit schools, city and community events, grand openings and industry gatherings to educate the public on the importance of saving energy and living more conscientiously.
Representatives from the company recently showcased the Machine at the Live Green Expo, a free family event in Plano that educates North Texans about leading healthier lives with less impact on the environment.
Newport also recently visited E.P. Rayzor Elementary School in Argyle to offer helpful facts, materials and give-a-ways to more than 350 students in the first, second and third grades to remind them to save natural resources and be more earth friendly.
“We’re convinced an aggressive approach to green building is imperative if we plan to preserve a healthy environment for our children and grandchildren,” said Kent LeSueur, president of Newport Homebuilders.
Newport’s LiveGreen initiative focuses on four major areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, air quality and green living. As part of the program every new Newport home is individually inspected by an independent, third-party Home Energy Rater to certify they meet the EPA’s nationally recognized Energy Star® Program. Each home also exceeds the GreenBuilt North Texas™ program developed by the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas.
A two-story home in the program will realize a minimum savings of 25 percent on energy, a 25 percent water savings and a 50 percent improvement in indoor air quality.
“We’ve invested years of research to develop the latest energy-saving products and construction methods in this comprehensive building program,” said LeSueur.
Newport Homebuilder currently builds homes priced from the $300s to $700s in Prosper, Lucas, Keller and Lantana. Luxury homes in the Park Cities start at $900,000.
Mr. LeSueur encourages schools and civic organizations to call 972-732-8800 or visit www.newportlivegreen.com to request a live appearance by the Newport Homebuilders’ LiveGreen Machine or find out more about Newport communities, home designs and energy and water savings.

Karaoke Oh yeah, you know you wanna belt it out like you're alone in the car. The microphone beckons. What else do you have to do on a Monday night? I mean besides watching football? If this is a bit far from your neighborhood, don't worry. There is a karaoke machine near you just waiting. More info
