Texas Rangers 10, Seattle Mariners 1

The Texas Rangers rebounded nicely from last night's loss, beating the Mariners in every facet of the game in a rousing 10-1 victory Tuesday night in Seattle. The win improved the Rangers to 14-20 on the year, and they are now tied with the Mariners for worst in the AL West.

The Rangers got their second straight excellent start from reclamation project Sidney Ponson. Ponson pitched seven solid innings for Texas, giving up just one run and seven hits. Ponson is now 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA in three starts.

The Rangers had offense coming from all over the lineup Tuesday night. Michael Young went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and three RBI. Josh Hamilton hit a three-run home run in the third to put the game away, while David Murphy continues to impress, going 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and three RBI. Two of Murphy's RBI came on a two-run home run, also in the third inning.

Several other Rangers had strong games. Ian Kinsler went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, while Ramón Vázquez went 2-for-5 with two runs. Frank Catalanatto went 1-for-2 with a run, but also had three walks. The Rangers as a team collected an astounding ten walks, just one night after getting zero.
