Carson Kreitzer will stop in Texas on May 9 to take in a performance of her play Freakshow.
She will be traveling from her home in New York to a workshop in San Francisco, and will fly through Texas to catch the show.
Elizabeth Ware says, "I had extended an invitation to Ms. Kreitzer out of politeness, really, never expecting her to be able to come. She is a resident at New Dramatists, has several commissions in the works, and recently won a Lark Playwrighting Fellowship.

"She does have some Texas connections, though, having studied at the Michener Center at UT Austin. I sent her an e-mail, letting her know we'd love to have her if she happens to be in Texas.
"She called me to decline. Her schedule was already very full for April and May. Then we got to talking about Core's production - which is only the second production of the play. In the end, she decided to swing though Texas to see the show.
"Core has never hosted an out-of-town playwright before. We are so glad to be able to show her what her script has inspired in us."
Freakshow runs through May 17 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Purchase tickets online or by calling 214-893-3009.
