Fort Worth robbery suspect brought BB gun, fatally wounded by shotgun
Around 2 a.m. Friday morning a robbery suspect, who was recognized to be involved in other crimes in the area, attempted to hold up the Happy Donuts shop on Roberts Cut Off Road in west Fort Worth.
When the suspect entered the shop, an employee tried to flee but was chased down and struck in the head. Police believe she was struck with the butt of a BB gun rifle.
A neighbor who heard the disturbance grabbed his shotgun, came over to the shop, and shot the suspect in the chest. The suspect, a 44 year-old-man, died at the scene.

I would say the same if I was anyone else, but I knew this guy. I only met him about 3 times, but has known his brother for my whole life. Ricky, the guy that did this, spent over 20 years in prison and he just got out about 2 years ago. He was doing good at first, well cut and clean, got a job, etc. Recently, he just started acting wreckless. Even tried to break into my dad's house. My dad has helped him with money and jobs ever since he got out of prison. Just really sad to see what drugs will turn someone into. I'm glad that someone caught him in the act, or he may have hurt that woman really bad.

Note to self: don't spend any time in west Ft. Worth with shady apparel on.
Per the linked DMN article, "The neighbor heard the commotion, grabbed a shotgun and came to help, Henderson said. He added that he did not know what sort of contact the suspect and the neighbor had before the shooting." So...this guy hears yelling, grabs his gun, sees a dude with a mask and unloads a shell in his chest without blinking an eye.
I'm definitely getting me a shotgun if/when I own a home.
