Tuesday's (May 13) regular meeting of the Coppell City Council will include the official approval of the May 10 municipal election results, followed by a swearing in of councilfolk representing Places 1, 3, 5 & 7.

Other items on the post-election agenda include the appointment of a Mayor Pro Tem; a councilmember appreciation presentation; a proclamation honoring Pete Wilson for his years of service to the community; and a proclamation naming May 15 as Coppell Fire Dept. Day.

Consent agenda items:

* approval of the agreement stipulating that Oncor Electric Delivery will provide median lighting for the Bethel Road Project for a compensation of $69,282.

* proposed approval of an amendment to the property exchange agreement btwn. the City of Coppell and Chadick Capital L.P., said property exchange to expedite construction of drainage improvements on the Bethel Road Project.

* codification amendments to the adoption of the Coppell Thoroughfare Plan

* proposal to allow an increase in the size of the sign for TownOaks Centre (SE corner of Sandy Lake and Denton Tap), from 25.6 sq. ft. to 51.9 sq. ft.

* zoning change proposals re. the Arbor Manors Phase II (from retail to single-family planned devpt.)

* zoning change re. the Lesley Addition (light industrial, located along Dividend Drive W of Belt Line) allowing for bigger and more signage than originally provided for

Public hearing items:

* rezoning consideration re. property along Sandy Lake W of Summer Place Dr. to allow for an exception to the requirement calling for garage access only via alley (involving construction plans for four single-family homes)

Looks like these new councilfolk will have to hit the ground running, with lots of business to cover.
