2008 Keller election results: PegNews content partner ousted from Council position
In a "citywide" change of heart, Keller replaces all three council members who were up for reelection.
Jim Carson has been known in Keller as one of the most outspoken Keller City council members, if not the least popular when it came to his fellow council members. His blog, Keller City Limits, happens to be a Pegasus News content partner. Carson's seat, Place 4, was up for voting last night as he ran against Jim Thompson. Thompson took approximately 2/3 of the vote to claim Place 4.
In his blog post, Carson wrote, "I honestly thought I could stir the fiscally conservative majority of Keller to vote in a city election. I was naive. I couldn’t even inspire my wife to vote."
John Baker beat out incumbent Mark Harness with 53% of the vote to become Place 2 Council Member. Meanwhile, Tom Cawthra manhandled incumbent Bob Kirk, taking nearly 52% of votes cast.
There were also two trustee positions up for grabs on the KISD school board. Craig Allen beat out Richard Walker with nearly 54% of the vote to fill the Place 4 seat vacated by Scott Brown. Meanwhile in the Place 5 race, incumbent Lara Lee Hogg beat out Charlie Youngblood with 55.75% of the vote. Hogg was the only incumbent in Keller who held onto her seat.
Voter turnout in Keller was 7.64%
