2008 Mansfield election results: Cooks edges out the competition by 70 votes
Mansfield decided numerous contests in yesterday's election including their next Mayor and two council positions.
David L. Cook beat out three opponents to take his position as Mansfield's next mayor. Robert McDowell and Leaner B. Hines, Jr. received a combined 22 votes. The main contender, Bryndan Wright, took 1,348 votes, or 48.35%, 70 votes shy of Cook's 1,418 (50.86%). Cook takes the seat as Mansfield's second mayor in the span of a year.
Council Member places 6 and 7 were also "decided," as James Rudnicki nabbed the Place 6 spot with 69.77% of the vote, beating out Marvin Kahlden by 1,161 votes. Larry Broseh, who was running unopposed, pulled out the miraculous upset to take 100% of the vote for Council Member, Place7.
10.01% of eligible voters turned out in Mansfield on May 10.
