2008 Rockwall County election results
While Rockwall City Council Place 4 was up for grabs on election day (May 10), only Cliff Sevier was running - so that makes it a fait accompli. (SEVIER WINS!!!)
On the other hand, both Places 2 and 6 were under contention, with two candidates for each seat.
Two-termer Stephen Straughan went up against challenger Mark Russo for Place 2, while Place 6 found incumbent Margo Nielsen attempting to fend off Mary Hanrahan.
Meanwhile, back at the ISD: settling unopposed into Board of Trustees Places 6 and 7 were Leigh Plagens and Stan Lowrance, respectively.
Coming out on top of the Rock were Russo defeating Straughan in Place 2 by a count of 453 to 373. In Place 6, Margo Nielsen dropped the hammer on Mary Hanrahan by grabbing 521 votes to her 302.
