This child, like three of the candidates in Watauga, will win his race.

This child, like three of the candidates in Watauga, will win his race.

In Watauga there were four council seats up for the vote and only five candidates. Sucks to be that fifth candidate.

The only contested race in the Watauga election was for the Place 7 council seat. Incumbent Jerry Adams took the victory with 54.86% of the vote, beating out James Kimmerle. Ernie Koontz, Richard Helmick, and Lee W. Griffin ran unopposed to take the Place 1, Place 2, and Place 6 seats, respectively. All three were incumbents.

Voter turnout in Watauga for the May 10 election was 1.16%.
