I'm sure we'll find out more later this morning (May 12), but for now all that's known is that at about 7 a.m. Grand Prairie police entered the apartment (in the 500 block of Westchester Rd.) where a man had barricaded himself around 4 a.m.
UPDATE: The barricaded man, whose name has not been released, "may have been" fatally wounded by police gunfire (the confirmation is pending the evaluation of the medical examiner). In any case, the standoff is over, after an exchange of gunfire during which police ended up shooting the guy, who may have been bipolar and off his medication.
