Fort Worth man uses gun to scratch his back, accidentally shoots himself

Email Print Tell us your story Comments (3)

— Jorge Espinal, 44, of Fort Worth used a gun to scratch his back and accidentally shot himself.

Kimberly Durnan at the DMN offers an admirably dry account of Espinal "drinking beer and playing poker around 3 a.m. Sunday morning" in his home in the 3500 block of Montague Street. When he felt an itch on his back, he grabbed the first thing he could find, which was, you know, a revolver. His drinking/poker-playing buddies saw blood coming down his back and took him to a hospital where he was treated and released.

Mr. Espinal went back and told his buddies that he shot himself.

Great buddies he's got there. Maybe a gunshot ringing out isn't a rarity on the 3500 block of Montague Street?

People. You gotta love 'em!

This guy is a perfect example of an 'incomplete idiot'. If he'd been just a tad dumber, he would have killed himself.
Maybe next time.

I wonder if the gun shot took care of the itch.

As a rule of thumb I try to avoid games where the handiest object is a gun. Especially if any of the other players are jaw-dropping stupid.

The Magnetic Fields Quartet led by songwriter Stephen Merritt is resolutely "indie" so how come their music has been used in a Volvo commercial and appeared in the film Lemony Snicket? More info
