The distant dream of the Toadies getting together for a new album has come true for devoted fans. Their long-awaited third album, No Deliverance, will be out on August 19.
Since their last release, which was in the late 90's, the band lost their bassist Lisa Umbarger and seemingly went their separate ways. But in 2005 they played a St. Patrick's Day show that was an instant success. Because of this, they also played the following year.
Since then, the band has been playing more shows which lead them to making a new album. Some of the bigger shows include a sold out concert at the Ridglea Theater on June 21, and at Possum Kingdom Lake on August 31. Tickets are still available for the Dia De Los Toadies show.
Vaden Todd Lewis, the lead singer, says in an interview with Spin.com that the record brings him back to where he started as a musician.
Because the announcement is so new, there are no previews as of yet.
On the bands' MySpace, they say more information will be coming on NoDeliverance.com.
