Nursing-homed elderly not safe from sticky-fingered Hurst thieves
It's that time again. The Hurst Police Department has released its weekly Crime Updates for both businesses and residences within the city. The following crimes were reported between Sunday May 4 and Saturday May 10:
Sometime between Wednesday at 11:00pm and Thursday at 7:15am, some unknown individual with a promising future fired a B.B. gun through the front window of a convenience store on 6500 Precinct Line Road.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, a wallet was stolen from an unattended room of a nursing home located at 2700 Hurstview Drive. The suspect is believed to have gradually shuffled away from the scene of the crime.
Sometime between the wee hours of Friday night and Saturday morning, three separate mailboxes were smashed and run over by an unknown vehicle. The addresses of the slaughtered boxes: 100 E Louella Drive, 400 W Louella Drive, 1700 Jeannie Lane.
And to close out the week, on Saturday between 12:01am and 4:00am, a 1994 Buick LeSabre 4-door parked on the street at 200 E Louella Drive had its window broken out by a beer bottle that probably did not fall from space.

Oh, Louella drive. You sound like a fun place to not live, ever.

No matter how old we get, or what storage facility we're left in to rot, we won't be immune to the stupidity of people.

I plan on rotting in the comfort of my own home, to the discomfort of my children and grand children. At least that way when my wallet is missing, I'll know it's my direct descendants using it to buy pot.

You might not have a choice. They may plop you in your wheelchair and roll you into one of these places, just so you won't be home to get into their stash.

Wonder what the odds are of pot being legal by the time I'm old and bored out of my mind...
